Mandy, Controversial Movies & WDIGW Sean Penn

This week, we hunkered down and watched the grindhouse, acid trip from Panos Cosmatos, Mandy. For Our Week In Entertainment we chose to watch movies with controversial subject matter; Helen rewatched the French film Elle, Edison took in some early Ryan Gosling work with The Believer, and Ms. Sinclair watched the feature film debut from director Nicole Kassell, The Woodsmen. Lastly we ask, Where Did It Go Wrong Sean Penn?

Peppermint and WDIGW Renee Zellweger

For this episode of Talk Movie To Me we watched action flick Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner. Did it makes us feel minty fresh or leave a bad taste in our mouths? For Our Week In Entertainment we watched movies by actors turned directors. And finally we asked ourselves Where Did It Go Wrong Renee “You had me at hello” Zellweger?

The Meg & WDIGW Will Smith

This week we take a bite out of Jason Statham’s new movie The Meg. Was it an aquatic thrill ride or did it leave us sleeping with the fishes. For Our Week In Entertainment we scared ourselves silly with some Canadian Horror films. Finally we ask Where Did It Go Wrong? for the Fresh Prince Himself Will Smith.

Eighth Grade & WDIGR Ryan Gosling

This week we are missing our beloved Edison but have a very special guest judge, Libby Osler! The three of us went to see Bo Burnham's indie hit, Eighth Grade. For Our Week In Entertainment we all watched the movie from our childhood which made us cry the most. Helen rewatched Nicholas Sparks' first film adaptation Message in a Bottle, Ms. Sinclair revealed her romantic side with the 1965 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet and Libby somehow managed to take in the entire Matrix Trilogy. Lastly we ask, Where Did It Go Right for Ryan 'I wrote you everyday for a year' Gosling!

Whitney & WDIGW Jennifer Lopez

This week we discuss Whitney; Kevin Macdonald’s documentary about the unbelievably talented late singer. For Our Week In Entertainment, we let YOU decide, thank you everyone for your film suggestions! Helen watched one of the saddest movies of all time, Grave of the Fireflies, Edison watched Jean-Marc Vallée’s C.R.A.Z.Y. and Ms. Sinclair suffered her way through the 1979 “historical drama” Caligula. Lastly we wonder, Where Did It Go Wrong, for Jenny from the Block herself, Jennifer Lopez (and were specifically talking her filmography, we realize she’s still insanely successful.

EPISODE 27

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom & WDIGW John Travolta

This week we saw the latest instalment in the Jurassic World trilogy, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. For Our Week In Entertainment we chose to watch content created by members of the LGBTQ community. Edison started watching the new Ryan Murphy series Pose, Helen watched the debut feature from Xavier Dolan, I Killed My Mother, and Ms. Sinclair saw A Fantastic Woman, starring transgendered actress Daniela Vega. Lastly we ask Where Did It Go Wrong...and then right, and then wrong again, and then right again (etc. etc.) for the beloved, John Travolta.

EPISODE 26

Hereditary & WDIGW Emile Hirsch

This week we saw the feature film directorial debut from Ari Aster, Hereditary (Edison’s tongue pops will never be the same). For Our Week In Entertainment, we decided to all watch films by female directors. Helen saw Outside In, directed by Lynn Shelton, Edison watched 13th, by Ava DuVernay, and Ms. Sinclair marched down to Queen Video to rent Ratcatcher by Lynne Ramsay. Lastly we ask, Where Did It Go Wrong? for not-so-boy-next-door Emile Hirsch.

Ocean's 8 & WDIGW Jennifer Love Hewitt

GUYS WE'RE BACK! In our first episode of season two we decided to check out Helen's most anticipated movie of 2018, Ocean's 8. The theme for Our Week In Entertainment was Canadian movies; Edison finally saw the harrowing film Incendies, Helen watched the Tatiana Maslany/Tom Cullen feature The Other Half, and Ms. Sinclair watched a different Villeneuve entity, Polytechnique. Lastly we ask, Where Did It Go Wrong for the scream queen, team dream herself, Jennifer Love Hewitt.
